IntroductionTrip reports are posted by TRIP DATE, newest to oldest. However, they are not always submitted or posted in order, so please scroll down and check for new ones. New trip reports will have a "NEW!" notation in red after the description. We welcome submissions from riders of all ages and experiences. Before submitting a trip report, please read our Submission Guide to the right. If writing a "trip report" sounds too much like "work", please consider submitting trail information for our Ride Guide. For "event" photos, please check our Photo Galleries. Many members are shooting video instead of writing a trip report; check out the action on our Videos page. 2010Dust to Dust Posted July 25/10 - We run some dusty trails along Harrison West FSR. NEW! Chipmunk Loops July 16/10 - We run some of the loop trails at Chipmunk. Rally in the Valley for Gabriel April 18/10 - The Comox Valley ATV Club holds a fundraiser rally for the family of a 2-year-old being treated for leukemia in Vancouver. Technical Trails at Chipmunk April 17/10 - We run the technical trails at Chipmunk, where things are never boring. Weaver, Hale, and Sunrise April 10/10 - We run trails in the West Harrison area; Weaver Creek, Hale Creek, and Sunrise Lake. Valley of Doom June 28/09 - Skrick rolls his quad 250 feet down a drop-off at Carolin Mines. 150 Mile House to Squawk Lake March 23/09 - Steve and some friends spend a snow-filled day on the trails. 2008ATV Recovery Mission November 30/08 - Dan dropped his quad down a 1000-foot cliff during last week's trip, and a bunch of the Kamloops gang set off to recover it. Quads.ca Christmas Toy Drive 2008 November 16/08 - The Quads.ca members collect toys and clothes for the Lower Mainland Christmas Bureau. 150 Mile House to Spokin Lake October 5/08 - Steve and friends spend a great day out on the trail. Golden 2007: Keep the Rubber Side Down Rally August 18-23/07 - The Fisette clan's annual get-together in the Golden area. Lots of slides and washouts make for an interesting adventure! The 2007 Valley Trail Riders Pitt Lake Expedition July 21-23/07 - The Valley Trail Riders take a barge up to the north end of Pitt Lake. Gold Bridge/Tyaughton Lake/Southern Chilcotin July 3-9/07 - LadyDeanna and Trapper Dan explore the mountains in the Gold Bridge area. Chipmunk Creek Ride June 24/07 - Seven Quads.ca members ride the trails at Chipmunk Creek FSR. Stewart Lake to Pine River May 19/07 - Scrubbs, 2farnorth, WhoamItoday, and Mudlover head out for a long, scenic trip along the pipeline right-of-ways, and of course find some deep mud. Stewart Lake Ride May 6/07 - Some of the gang from Fort St John ride to Stewart Lake. Titetown May 2-3/07 - Mercenary takes a solo trip to Titetown Lake. Oil Shortage April 24/07 - Rigster and 8Ball visit BC Nickelmine Rd. Nickelmine Rockslide Photos April 15/07 - Some of the gang visit BC Nickelmine Rd, and play on a new rockslide. Harrison West Photos April 15/07 - Some members of the Explorers ATV Club head to Harrison West FSR for a day of exploration. Northern Migration March 1/07 - Scrubbs visits the Fraser Valley from Fort St John, to check out some of the popular trails with local riders from Quads.ca. Things don't always go as planned! 2006Quads.ca Trail Clean-Up: Lost Creek FSR November 5/06 - Conky organizes a trail clean-up; approximately 50 Quads.ca members and friends haul out several tons of garbage, scrap metal, and stolen cars. Explorers' 2006 Year-End Camp-Out and BBQ October 13-15/06 - The Explorers host a Halloween-themed camp-out for members and friends at Carolin Mine Road, north of Hope. East Harrison to Boston Bar August 24/06 - Summitrider leads a group on a long-distance trip on the east side of Harrison Lake. The 2nd Annual Quads.ca Unofficial BBQ/Camp-out/Ride July 21-23/06 - Our second year at Larson Hill. Lots of comments from the 150 participants. 22 Quads, 25 Riders, 30 kms of Rocky Trail July 9/06 - TRX-350 leads a trip to the Mara Forestry Lookout near Enderby; some mechanical difficulties were experienced. ATV/BC Poker Ride 2006 June 21/06 - Greg's experiences at the 2006 ATV/BC Poker Ride at Logan Lake. Indian Arm Ride June 14/06 - Jim Moir leads a beginner run along Indian Arm. Mossy Trails May 6/06 - Greg and Boat Boy ride some old, moss-covered trails at Chehalis. The Monster Ride - Sloquet Hotsprings / Port Douglas April 22/06 - Treds and 24 Quads.ca members head out for an easy exploration run up Harrison Lake. Scouting Chehalis December 12/04 - Paul Mitchell and some of the LMATV Club members check out a trail for a future poker ride route. Brake Time October 3/04 - Joebear and the gang head out for some trail maintenance; Jason rolls his quad and sustains some injuries. Back to the Mountain October 3-8/04 - Paul Mitchell, Bruce, and Bambam head back to Thynne Mtn for some exploring and to see the view. Their previous visit was during a foggy night run, so the view at that time was somewhat lacking! KVR Black Robe Memorial Ride September 26/04 - ATV/BC's memorial ride on the Kettle Valley Railway, which the BC Government is handing over to TrailsBC, an anti-motorized-recreation group. Lower Mainland ATV Club Poker Run 2004 September 11-12/04 - Greg's account of the event, held at Larson Hill, with additional photos by Paul Mitchell. A Miner Accident August /04 - Oweee and Ozark Girl ride the Carolin Mine road; Oweee experiences a sudden, unplanned off-road excursion and has to call a helicopter for the recovery. Narrow Minded August 29/04 - Greg, Paul Mitchell, Bruce, Brian O, Michael, Ken, and Bill explore the trails at the BC Nicklemine Road. Tokin' Bears August 22/04 - BCTL500 takes the group exploring on the Chilliwack - Foley Lake FSR. Mine Exploring at Mt McKinnon August 21/04 - Kootenaycat and the gang explore some abandoned mines up the Incomappleau River, south-east of Revelstoke. Septimus Creek Trail Maintenance August 21/04 - Joebear and the gang construct an ATV bridge over Septimus Creek. Redfern in the Rain July 21/04 - Joebear and the gang ride to Redfern Lake for some R&R (riding and rain!). Float Some May/04 - Oweee and friends head to the Coquihalla Lakes area and discover that some quads float. The Crying Girl May 19/04 - Joebear and the gang take their annual trip to Christina Falls. Kamloops in the Spring March 17-20/04 - Dave and Greg explore the Kamloops area during Spring Break. 2003Low Water at Herrling Island December 26/03 - Six quads head to Herrling Island to take advantage of the extremely-low water level. Kamloops Snow Run December 19-22/03 - Dave and Greg journey to Kamloops to explore some snow-covered trails. Blah November 16/03 - Greg and Nic head to Vedder Ridge for some technical riding; Greg works his way down a steep, V'd trail and runs into some difficulty on the return trip. Bump and Grind October 13/03 - August, Dave and Greg head up to Vedder Ridge; Dave executes a brief, unplanned off-road excursion and damages his quad. BC Nickel Mine Road July 12/03 - August, Dave and Greg ride the dirt-bike trails and explore the terrain surrounding the old BC Nickel Mine site north of Hope. Manson Ridge May 18/03 - Dave and Greg explore the area at the south end of the Coquihalla Hwy. Spinal Tap February 23/03 - August, Dave, and Greg ride the technical trails on Vedder Ridge; Greg sustains injuries when he flips his quad in the middle of a hill. |
Submission GuideYou do not need to know HTML or anything about websites to write a trip report. Just type up the details in an email, attach the photos, and send it to "info at quads dot ca" . The trip report can be as detailed as you like; even point-form notes are fine, and don't worry about spelling or grammar. :) Keep it clean! Remember, this is a family-oriented website. Your trip report should reference your photos; ie. if you'd like a photo inserted in a particular location, write the filename of the photo in the text where you want it to appear, with brackets around the image filename. Photos should be AT LEAST 640x480 pixels in size, and should be saved as jpegs with no more than 20% compression. Photos should be in focus, with reasonable lighting; please do not brighten or otherwise edit your photos. Even if the photos look really dark to you, we may be able to colour-balance and brighten them, but only if they are untouched. We prefer that you submit the photos in a single .zip file as it's much faster to download and save them on our end. Supply your Quads.ca username (or your real name if you aren't a member) so that we can give proper credit, and indicate whether or not you'd like a link to your email address and/or website. We reserve the right to edit the trip report for clarity, brevity, grammar, spelling, content, and taste. We cannot guarantee that your trip report will appear on Quads.ca, or that all photos will be used. Please be patient; sometimes it takes a while for trip reports to be posted. |
