Post Skid Plates for 2010 Honda Rincon 680???????
Hey Y'all,

So I was on my first ride with my new quad this past weekend, and it was brought up a few times that I may want to invest in skid plates.

I have a few questions with regards to this, which are:

1. Best Place(s) to purchase them?

2. Are they simple enough to install?

3. What skid plates would I require?

4. Is there any way in which they could affect my warranty in a negative manner?

5. What is a good thickness to use?

Any assistance with respect to this would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Justin

Talk to John at http://quadshop.ca/ in Abbotsford. Tell him I told you to call and ask about Ricochet skid plates.

Installation is straightforward, and should not affect your warranty since you are better-protecting your quad.

Greg, Holeshot was $50 dollars cheaper then quadshop for the skid plates and carter Honda was $100 dollars cheaper than Holeshot (However I will not give them my business ever again!).

Wow, it's very unusual for John to be higher than the dealers. Were they all quoting on the same package, ie. full skids including A-arm protectors?

I was very specific with all three dealers on what I was looking for. I also ensured that the thickness (3/16") was the same.

So now I don't know which one to go for just in case they are different! Too many choices!

Go with the cheapest price. Just verify that it's the Ricochet p/n that Treds quoted.

Thnaks,

I have ordered directly from Ricochet.

I was the cheapest as well as the quickest option. All I had to do was have it shipped to a friends address in the states.

Should have it by tuesday or wednesday.

So I placed my order on Friday morning and they Arrived at a friends in Mount Vernon this morning and are now in my possession headed back to Canada.

Only 300 bucks for the 5/16 full set (diff plate included).

As opposed to 600 bucks anywhere in the lower mainland!

Well worth the wait in line at the border!

8) Cool! Take some pictures of the install!

Now you need to focus on new tires. Those stock ones aren't worth a :poo:

If tires aren't in the budget start thinking about handwarmers, we aren't too far off from when we all appreciate having them. Crap I could have used them in July !

I will definitely take some photos of the progress of the quad.

If I can fix the carb on my TRX 200, I intend on throwing the stock rims and rubber from my 680 on to the 200 and getting new rims and rubber.

I didnt get any instructions with the skid plates.

Would anyone know what I would need to remove before installing the new ones?

I have attached a link to some photos of the underside.

Skid Plates are installed!

Quite impressed with the look and functionality. Definitely some heavy duty protection now.

Here is a link to pictures before, during, and after the install!
