Beatton on a New Quad

Fort St John area

February 27/05

Written by Joebear

Darryl from Fast Trax was demo-ing a new 750 and wanted to take Dean out for a ride, so Dan, Shad, Jerry, Olga, Eugene and I went along.

We started out at the top of the old Beatton River road. We headed down to the river, and crossed it. We were quite suprised at the amount of snow, as it has been very warm here lately. After we crossed the river, we stopped for a break. We then headed down-river on the ice. We saw two moose on the way. Once we arrived at the cabin, we stopped for another break. Dean looked over the machine some more, and Eugene cleaned some snow out of his.

We played around a little on the way further down, then headed back to the old bridge. Darryl and Dean had to leave, then Dan and Shad decided to leave as well. Jerry, Olga, Eugene, and I went up along the highway to go further up-river, but the only way back to the river was too steep and the gate was closed on the only road.

We headed back to the trucks. Along the way, Eugene didn't realize we had turned up a different trail and went on by. Jerry had known we were going to turn off so he went to catch Eugene while we waited. A squirrel started to make some noise, so Olga attempted to find him in the tree. Overall it was a good day's ride with no mishaps!
