Fall Guys

Cassidy Area

February 5/06

Written by 94 Warrior

We started off with a 350 Warrior, 660 Raptor, 400 Kawi and Willys-bodied 250 Odyssey. The Odyssey had carb problems and didn't end up making it out this time, but he'll be there for the next ride.

We went riding up to Timberlands Lake to start our ride.

Then after deciding where to go next, I suggested we go up to Mt Sicor to play in the snow. You know you meet the darndest people on your rides; we bumped into Byron and some of his friends at the splicing-shed turn-off.

After that, we headed up to the snow and ran into the same problem as Byron and the 4x4's; the snow just got too deep too quick.

The next destination for us was Mt Hayes where my Raptor buddy was doing circles and over-did it, flipping right over with minor damage to the plastic and a sore elbow.

After that we headed back down to the Ladysmith fish hatchery to check out the falls there. On the way we went down a trail called the Goat Trail, which turned out to be a bit tricky as the recent rains had washed a deep ditch right in this up-down spot. We added rocks to make it across; on the way up the Kawi did a flip with no damage except to pride. I was in line waiting for my turn, so I didn't manage to get any pics of that one.

My buddies informed me that there was a way better set of falls just a mile up from where we were, so we headed up to them and man were they ever awesome! There are five sets of falls, with the biggest one over a 100 feet tall.

On the way back we went to Haslam Creek and my buddy on the Raptor proved that Raptors could swim. We all got soaked playing in the water.

All in all it was a good ride of about 4.5 hours.
